The 4th annual Women Building California and the Nation Conference will be held April 25-27 in Sacramento.  The conference is expected to bring together over 600 women representing a wide array of building trades related fields and functions.  The conference enables women a chance to network and build new skills.

Highlights of the convention will include:

This year’s theme is “Staying In and Staying Strong” – the goal being to retain the women in our industry.

• More than three dozen workshops throughout the two days will focus on recruitment, retention and leadership development.

• Numerous opportunities for networking with women from the same trade and from different trades—from California, across the nation, and even internationally.

• For unions and JATCs with pre-apprenticeship programs, a special pre-conference Institute on Friday April 25 is designed to discuss best practices and challenges on what works for women in these programs.

Women Building California and the Nation is jointly planned by the California Building Trades Council, Tradeswomen Inc., and the Building and Construction Trades Department’s Committee for Women in the Trades.

Space is still available and the registration fee is $100 for general pre-registration (only $75 if paid before March 7). It’s $125 at the door. Registration includes receptions on Friday and Saturday and a continental breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday.
