NC Loses Construction Jobs, KY Gains

North Carolina saw another drop in construction jobs in August, according to the BizJournal:

The loss during August put the 12-month drop in construction employment for the state at 5,600 jobs, which leaves it ranked 37th nationally in construction-employment changes, with a 3.2 percent drop, according to data from The Associated General Contractors of America.

Kentucky, on the other hand, saw a 3.6% job spike in August, totalling 2,300 jobs:

Kentucky’s and Colorado’s one-month gains were the largest of any of the states, Business First of Louisville reported.

Kentucky had 66,200 construction jobs in August, the most in the past three months, but still less than the 67,100 construction jobs the state had in August 2010.

North Dakota led all states with a 4,300 jobs added.
