Americans Have Until Otober 3rd to Participate In George Miller’s Online Forum to Support the AJA

Representative George Miller (D-CA) wants to hear from the American people about how the economic downturn has personally affected their lives so he has launched an online forum with hopes of rallying fellow politicians to action in regards to funding and passing President Obama’s American Jobs Act.

Miller, the senior Democrat of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, asked Chairman Kline to schedule hearings on the President’s proposal, including examining issues that fall in the committee’s jurisdiction including funding for education jobs, school repair and modernization, job training, and reemployment assistance. However, the committee needs a majority vote to schedule the action.

In a video announcing the online forum, Miller stresses that time is of the essence for many Americans struggling to make it through this difficult economic time and urges fellow committee members to rush to action.

The American people the most affected by the current situation should have the right to have their stories heard by those with the power to pass laws that could help them improve and stabilize their situation. The online forum launched by Rep. Miller gives those disenchanted with the current system a platform to share their opinion.

However, as Miller eludes to, time is of the essence. To get your voice heard, especially if you are or were employed in the fields of education or construction and are on long-term unemployment, you must visit the forum by October 3rd. It is time for the American people to reassert their voice in the political conversation and Rep. George Miller’s online forum presents such an opportunity.
