IBEW Spearheads Return of Jobs to Texas (from China) Through Partnership with Lighting Manufacturer
A recent video from The Electrical Worker Online shows how the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and John Higgins, CEO of Neutex Advanced Energy Corporation, worked together to bring jobs to Texas which had been previously outsourced to China. The untraditional business-labor relationship, spearheaded by organizer Paul Puente of Houston’s IBEW Local 716, has enhanced the quality and credibility of Neutex. The end result will be a 150,000 square foot campus that will employ 250-300 union workers.
