Graphic Safety Videos Highlight Importance of Workplace Standards

submit to reddit

A series of videos posted by Upworthy and made possible by Prevent-it.ca, an organization created by the Ontario Ministry of Labour, shows how various occupational accidents occur and the effect that it has on all involved.  The premise: these are not “accidents.”

In the shadow of last week’s Workers Memorial Day, the videos — some dating back to 2006 — highlight a need for companies to spend more time and energy enforcing safety standards. Workers, too, can take extra precautions during their daily routine to prevent tragedy.  Though partially animated, the videos are graphic in order to represent the harsh reality of workplace safety insufficiency.

Two are embedded below. Watch the rest on Upworthy.
