Indiana Rep. Robert Morris is fighting for the American people. He’s making clear distinctions between what’s right and wrong — good and evil if you will — and topping his list of evil is the ever-imposing Girl Scouts of America. It isn’t enough for the Indiana Republican to make workers’ lives miserable, he wants their children to be unhappy as well.
Morris recently refused to sign a non-binding resolution honoring the Girl Scouts of America on its 100th anniversary because, in his words, the Girl scouts are a “radicalized organization” that supports abortion and promotes the “homosexual lifestyle”:
Rep. Bob Morris, R-Fort Wayne, sent a letter to his fellow House Republicans on Saturday explaining why he would be the only member in the House not to endorse the nonbinding resolution.
He said he did some web-based research and found allegations that the Girl Scouts are a tactical arm of Planned Parenthood, allows transgender females to join and encourages sex.
Morris also said the fact that First Lady Michelle Obama is honorary president “should give each of us reason to pause before our individual and collective endorsement of the organization.”
This is your government, Indiana. The same men looking to down the Girl Scouts on their birthday helped pass “Right-to-Work.” He further attacked the Girl Scouts, saying:
“I challenge each of you to examine these matters more closely before you extend your name and your reputation to endorse a group that has been subverted in the name of liberal progressive politics and the destruction of traditional American family values.”
Wow. Just, wow.
Morris went on to say that his daughters were in the Girl Scouts and have had a very positive experience (…someone needs to get this guy into a messaging class). Somewhere in the positive character building, however, Morris has seen the liberal devil, compelling him to lead the conservative crusade against Tagalongs.
Most likely, Morris is trying to drum up business for his Health Kick Nutrition health stores as an alternative to Girl Scout cookies. But Girl Scout leaders in the area suggest that business has not been affected by Morris’ sugar-free slander.
After all, you can’t have a Tea Party without any cookies…
