From the standpoint of an upstanding Wisconsinite who wants the best for their state, the news that State Senator Robert Cowles, one of six Republicans up for recall election this summer, had money invested in the porn industry is either too good to be true or just plain too bad.

While Politiscoop acknowledges that the money was in a “blind trust” and actually appears to have missed the memo that Cowles sold the stock over two years ago, this year’s vehement anti-unionism is reason enough to recall this little black eye, right?

At one point Cowles had more than $50,000 invested in two companies — Rick’s Cabaret International and VCG Holding. These company Web sites operate under names such as “coupletouch,” a site for swingers to meet one another and `naughtybids`, which is an online auction site for porn related items (such as “one-on-one stripping shows” and “props,” you can decide what these are). There is also a site named ‘xxxpassword’ which gives users access to unlimited porn sites for $39.95 a month.
